Support for your digilog

Notes are the backbone of your Digilog - to use notes, click the "Notes" Icon or right click on the Digilog and choose "Notes" and then choose "Add new note". Then click on the position on the page where you want the note icon to appear. Then click on the note icon to expand the note for editing. Learn more >>>>

 

Adding Text - Choose  the "Edit" icon this reveals all of the editable fields (text and images) on the current page. Move your cursor to the text box and type in your entry. To view your entry choose the "View" icon to save your entry choose the "Save" icon. (Note: you must choose "View" or "Save" to be able to turn pages backwards and forwards.) If do not choose "Save" at a later point when you close the Digilog you will be asked if you want to save the changes or not.

 

Inserting Images - Choose the "Edit" icon, this reveals all of the editable fields (text and images) on the current page. Then double click in the area of the image and this will launch a standard explorer "Insert/Change" image window, simply select the image you which to insert by double clicking it or highlighting it and clicking "open". (Resizing images is dealt with in the next topic)

 

Image Manipulation - If you are familiar with a particular image editing program then we recommend that you edit your images first, however the Digilog has some useful editing features accessible via a popup menu, this can be activated by right clicking on any inserted image. (Note: Large image files will increase the file size of the Digilog this can slow down the usual operation of the Digilog you can use the image optimiser to reduce the file size see below) Learn more >>>>

 

Printing - Choose the "Print" icon if you wish just to print the current page, the number is displayed in the "pages" box of the "Print Dialog" window otherwise the whole log will be sent to print!.

 

Backups To back up your log choose the "Backup" icon, this launches a "Save DNL Book" window locate the folder in which you want to store your backup copy of the Digilog, give the Digilog a meaningful name such as "digilog260407" (the date of the backup) and click on "Save". (Saving to removable media such as USB memory drives is recommended for ALL important data not just your Digilog).

 

Background On/Off Choose the "Background" icon this will remove the background from the Digilog choosing "Background" whilst the background is not visible will reinstate the background.

 

Highlights Highlights work in a similar fashion to notes choose the "Highlights" icon and "add new highlight" from the right click menu and then drag the "pen" across the part of the Digilog you want to highlight. Learn more >>>>

 

The Pop-up Menu Right click anywhere in the book and this will launch a "pop-up menu". There are several options for operating the Digilog. The "pop-up" menu contains many useful options for the operation of the Digilog. Learn more >>>>
